Sharon Ellingwood White is a 5th generation native of Lemington, Vermont in Essex County. She works for the State of Vermont Agency of Natural Resources in the Department of Environmental Conservation as a Grants Specialist. She was the former Library Director for the Alice Ward Library in Canaan, Vermont. She was educated at Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA with a degree in Equine Management with a minor in Political Science. Early in her career she worked in the equine industry operating a show stable, teaching and competing with Amateur and Juvenile riders and is a licensed official with the New England Horsemen’s Council, judging horse show competitions. Sharon is on the Board of the Northeast Kingdom Choice School District, the Essex North Supervisory Union and is on the Board of Directors at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, NH, and a Director for the Coos/Essex Agricultural Society. She is a Justice of the Peace and on the Lemington Board of Civil Authority and a member of the Lemington Historical Society. Sharon has a special interest in the equity and success for children & families in the sparsely populated and remote areas of Essex County.
