Kendra has lived in the New North End of Burlington with her husband, Charles, and their three children since moving to Vermont in 2011. She has been active in the Burlington public schools for the past 19 years and currently is co-chair of both the Finance Committee and the Community Engagement Committees as a School Board Commissioner. She is also the Burlington representative for the Regional Tech Center Advisory Board which serves both the Burlington and Essex Technical Programs. Kendra is passionate about ensuring our schools empower, educate, and equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful, engaged citizens. Her desire for every Vermont child to have equitable educational opportunities led her to spearhead a state-wide coalition of other like-minded school board members to advocate to the Vermont Legislature for updating the outdated Vermont per pupil funding formula. From this grassroots effort, a new non-profit organization called the Coalition for Equity in Education was formed and she currently serves as its Chair.
Kendra has a B.S. in Political Science from Bates College and an M.S. in Information Management. She is currently the co-owner of Artemis Fitness in South Burlington.
